Marathon Training Begins!

For most Americans, the Fourth of July represents celebrating our break from the Brits, vacations and the summer in all its glory.

For me, it signifies the start of marathon training. The pain begins now and will end in November. How is that for S&M? Any helpful words of encouragement and support would be much appreciated.

And if you are so inclined, drop a knee and help a brother out after each of my training runs!

  1. This is where I really envy you. I tried running every morning for a year, and couldn't get into it. Good luck with the training. I'll be your moral support on the sidelines, but definitely won't be trying to keep up.

  2. This post reminds me of why I hate running. I'm not a great runner and running a lot just reminds me of that fact. Now, when I did swimming I loved the distance events and was really good at them. However, I have to say that the one summer my friends and I formed a Triathlon team, I was good at the biking and great at the swimming, but I always lost time on the run. Thank god we weren't doing an Iron Man. I would have died.

Thanks man. One of the reasons I love to run is that it gives me uninterrupted time to think. Even if I listen to music, it is nice to just zone out and push myself. I'll be looking for you on the sidelines -- the hot naked guy with a cowbells hanging from your dick!

  4. Ace,

Your strength is my weakness. I learned to swim in the ocean, so laps and distance are torturous for me. A tri will be my next challenge. I wan to see a pic of you in a speedo.

I know how much you dig naked outside man! The cowbell is just to alert the runners when you get erect to drop a knee and earn a hot Mack load. Now that's a medal worth training for!

  9. Good luck with the training. I haven't been able to run in about a month, and I envy you! I've got to have foot surgery in August..hopefully I will be back at it in the fall. Running is the best way to think...I am kayaking, swimming, and riding the stationery bike to take the place of the running, but it just isn't the same...
