Attended a middle schopol performance of HONK! over the weekend. It is a
musical based on the ugly duckling story about acceptance and being
different. The lead male role (Ugly) was played by a young man whose older
brother is a college football player. I was sitting in the row behind the
brother and to watch his discomfort in seeing his brother sing and dance in
the play was heartbreaking. Not only did the older brother completely miss
the point of the play, the messaging etc., but he also missed the fact
that his kid brother is a talented amazing young man.
